Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our KYC verification and proxy whitelist system.
Is KYC verification required to use PlainProxies?
No, KYC is optional. You can use all standard proxy features immediately after registration. KYC is only required to access restricted features like mail ports (25, 110, 143, 993, 995), banking websites, and government (.gov) sites.
When can I request KYC verification?
You can request KYC verification from your profile dashboard once you've spent at least €10 total on our platform. This threshold ensures we only verify serious users while keeping the process accessible.
How long does the KYC verification process take?
Most verifications are completed within 5 minutes. Our partner iDenfy handles the automated identity verification process. You'll receive an email notification once your verification is complete.
What documents are accepted for KYC verification?
We accept government-issued ID documents including passports, national ID cards, and driver's licenses. iDenfy supports documents from over 200 countries and territories.
Is my personal information safe during KYC?
Absolutely. We only receive a pass/fail result from iDenfy — we never store your ID documents, photos, or personal identification numbers. All sensitive data stays with iDenfy and is processed according to GDPR standards.
Why do I need KYC to access mail ports?
Mail ports (SMTP, POP3, IMAP) can be misused for spam campaigns. KYC verification ensures only legitimate users can access these ports, which protects our network reputation and ensures better deliverability for verified users.
What is the difference between auto-approved and manual review requests?
Safe mail ports (110, 143, 993, 995) and standard domains are auto-approved instantly after KYC. Sensitive requests like SMTP port 25, banking sites, and .gov domains require manual review.
What happens if my whitelist request is denied?
Denied requests cannot be resubmitted for the same value. If you believe your request was wrongly denied, you can contact our support team to appeal the decision with additional context about your use case.
Why does PlainProxies require KYC for some features?
KYC helps us maintain a clean, high-quality proxy network. By verifying users who access sensitive features, we prevent abuse, improve IP reputation, and ensure better service for legitimate users.
